FIFA proposes $6.35bn development fund, with $25m for each member association

FIFA proposed a $6.35 billion development fund for 2027–30, more than doubling planned funding, with some money drawn from reserves boosted by 2026 World Cup revenues.
The proposal would provide $25 million to each of FIFA’s 211 member associations, up from $10 million, and $99 million to each of the six continental confederations.
FIFA said the funding would focus in part on women’s and youth football; proposed funding criteria also cover long-term projects and sports infrastructure.
The plan is due to be finalised by the FIFA Council in December 2026 and submitted for approval at the FIFA Congress in March 2027.
