North Korea said it test-fired two types of strategic cruise missiles in waters off its east coast on Wednesday.
KCNA said the tests were intended to assess underwater combat systems and demonstrate the reliability of North Korea’s deterrent.
KCNA did not specify whether the missiles were launched from a submarine or an underwater test platform.
The tests were North Korea’s first publicly reported underwater missile tests in nearly three years.
