Indian government rejects Musk’s allegations of discrimination against Starlink

The Ministry of Communications said the rules are fair and equal for all telecommunications services, including satellite communications; security checks on all three licensees are ongoing.
Elon Musk alleged that some Indian businesspeople want to protect their monopoly by blocking Starlink; he later mockingly called Mukesh Ambani “Prime Minister Ambani.”
According to the ministry, once the security check is complete, the licensed companies can move on to the next step and apply for spectrum allocation.
Starlink’s vice president of business operations said the company had built 20 gateway sites in India, developed security controls, and would keep Indian users’ data in the country.
