Kelly Clarkson says Brooklyn shop treated her as if she couldn’t afford its goods

Clarkson said an employee at Art of Play in Brooklyn suggested finding her a comparable item, making her feel she was being judged as unable to afford the store’s goods.
She compared the encounter to the boutique scene in “Pretty Woman” and criticized the shop on X; Art of Play said the one-of-a-kind bird she asked to buy was not for sale because it is used in the store’s magic shows.
Art of Play later said it told Clarkson that the bird’s creator had a nearly identical one available for $15,000 and offered to show her a different bird for about $2,000; the shop said she left before seeing it.
Art of Play co-owner Adam Rubin told Fox News Digital that people associated with the business had faced threats and doxxing, and said he feared for the shop’s safety.
