Türkiye to ban social media for under-15s from November 12026-10-10The regulation published in the Official Gazette on October 10 bans the provision of social network services to children under 15; it will take effect on November 1, 2026.Platforms will verify users’ ages using a token generated through e-Devlet; the token will indicate whether the age threshold is met without disclosing identity information.Age verification for existing accounts must be completed by March 31, 2027, at the latest.Accounts belonging to children aged 15 and over will be private by default; livestreaming and personalized ads will be restricted, and they will be able to receive messages only from accounts they follow.Platforms will provide parental control tools; parents will be able to manage account settings and screen time.The regulation also prohibits the provision of services likely to cause addictive effects in children.15 yaş altına sosyal medya yasağı!
